Design Expert Offers Tips on How to Clean Up an E-commerce Design

Well-known New York website design and development firm says that a website design can make or break an e-commerce website.

According to Peter Crisafi, Vice President of dzine it, Inc., a leading New York website design and development firm with experience in building small, medium, and large e-commerce websites, the design of an online store will determine the number of visitors that will ultimately buy from that store.

“Within the confines of a brick and mortar retail store, the key is to draw the attention of passersby, get them to come inside, and get them to buy,” says Crisafi. “An online store should be built with the same goals in mind.”

Crisafi says that first impressions are everything when it comes to e-commerce website design.
“There’s no doubt that a conventional retail establishment that is poorly merchandised, cluttered, or messy is a turn-off for many shoppers,” Crisafi says. “An online store can be just as much of a mess and that can hinder potential online sales.”

Crsiafi and his staff offer the following tips on how to clean up an online store:
      1. Remove any clutter that may take away from the products for sale.
      2. Entice users with a professional website design.
      3. Use flash and other animation effects sparingly.
      4. Organize the site to make it easy for users to navigate.
      5. Offer discounts regularly and be sure that they are well promoted.

“The real trick is to view the store from a customer’s perspective,” says Crisafi. “When a store owner steps into his or her customer’s shoes and shops in his or her own store, any issues will likely come to light.”
